How to minimize negative effects of alcohol on body building?Alright, I'll start off by saying I know that alcohol slows your metabolism and slows the muscle recovery process of a workout. But I'm a college student and the chances of me not drinking ever is slim to none, although I have cut back. Is there anything specific I can do to help minimize this?
What if i did fat burning excercizes while drinking? would that bring my metabolism back up at all?

Hahaha....fat burning exercises while drinking...that is hilarious. I would just slow down on the drinking if you want to be healthy. It eats up your liver too, so what's the point of body building if you are killing your liver on the inside? Makes no sense. You either drink alot and be unhealthy or drink ever so often and be healthy.

It has been scientifically proven that if you eat food while drinking (instead of just drinking on its own) you won't get as drunk. So many that will work. Also, some acohol in small amounts is actually good for you.

Just eat food and stay hydrated afterwards with water. But don't worry about a little alcohol. Moderate consumption of alcohol has in recent studies been shown to help lengthen life. Light drinkers actually live on average a little longer than teetotalers (and probably have a lot more fun, too).

If you're looking to minimize the effects alcohol has on the metabolism, you should consider investing in some prickly-pear juice. It's shown to decrease the amount of blood sugar (even used to treat diabetes), is full of electrolytes (will stop your metabolism from crashing quite so hard), and has even been proven in many studies to help alleviate many of the symptoms of a hangover if 8 ounces are consumed prior to drinking.
If you're a bit more thrifty, you can consider growing it yourself as it's drought-resistant and doesn't require much care and can also grow just about anywhere. The fruit is easily harvested, with proper care, and can be juiced easily.
If that doesn't sound like a viable option to you, I suggest adding some sodium to your diet to help more water penetrate your muscle tissue (this will be counter-productive for body-building, however, as you likely take potassium suplements to get the water out and give muscles that "rippled" look)
