sometimes you have to play around with medication before you find one that works. dont give up hope just call doc and tell him whats going on. they should give you something else. no worries! you will feel better soon. and congrats on the will to quit drinking! keep it up! your body is thanking you right now! no more hangovers!! good luck.

Amy, I used to use to be an addict myself. I tried everything, AA/NA, groups, rehabs and classes and the anxiety and depression you are feeling were contributing factors to my relapses... Addiction/alcoholism is a sign of a larger and more serious problem, one that I do not believe man alone can address. Do you have a church home, a support network of some kind? You probably need to talk for a while so find someone who is all ears. Take up new activities and rid yourself of all old detrimental activities if even they seem unrelated to your problem. Take a look at your life and figure out why you started running in the first place... there is a long list of stuff to do. The main thing to remember is that there is help. I am a Christian. I believe that you will be uplifted by walking with Him... but everyone must choose which path to take. I also suggest exercise. Peace and may the Hand of God be upon you.

First off congratulations for beating your drinking problem :) You may be experiencing withdrawal from the drinking which results in great anxiety. There are many different medications for anxiety and perhaps the one you tried didn't work for you. Also, you might benefit from counseling in combination with the right medication.

I had the same problem, actually my hangovers were anxiety attacks the next day, no headache, no stomach ache, just bad anxiety attacks. I quit drinkin all together and the anxiety attacks and depression all came, i went through 3 medications before i found the right one for me, it is a chemical imbalance we have, thats what causes the anxiety and panic attacks. When your brain dont produce enough serotonin level, this happens and causes the nasty depression. Try a different med, and remember give the med up to 6 weeks to work, be patient! good luck! god is watching over you!
