How can people honestly think alcohol should be legal and marijuana illegal?


How can people honestly think alcohol should be legal and marijuana illegal?About 100,000 alcohol related deaths a year can be wholly or partially attributed to drinking, and alcoholism reduces life expectancy by 10 to 12 years.
About ZERO marijuana related deaths are recorded per year, and is not shown to decrease life expectancy.

No I believe that whatever a person wants to put into his/her own body is their business as long as it doesn't effect anyone else. I don't think the government has the right to tell us what we as an individual can do (within certain limits, of course).

Precedent, as many of the older generations drink alcohol and it is considered a staple, but marijuana is not considered so necessary and commonplace to so many people.

owky look at it this way. if marijuana is legal that means it would be more problems that will be added not only to police but also citizens. i dont feel like hearing a commercial saying have you been taking marijuana? and then lists of all the possible outcomes and death rates that are going up. i personally dont feel like taking a risk
