Is acetaminophen as damaging to the liver as alcohol?

Is acetaminophen as damaging to the liver as alcohol?I'm not referring to taking an overdose of the drug, but to long term use of it within the recommended dose. Is taking acetaminophen on a regular basis likely to cause the same problems for the liver as consuming alcohol on a regular basis? Or is the liver able to deal with acetaminophen more easily as long as the recommended dose is adhered to?
