This relates to the social aspect of well being, because it is a social deficiency and one can not lead a healthy social life with this condition. ------ Hello there. Today, lets talk about social anxiety disorder. Social anxiety disorder, as defined by the World Health Orginization, is the 'fear of scrutiny by other people leading to avoidance of social situations.' Well, what does that mean? It means that when a person with this condition is in a social situation, they experience symptoms such as -Blushing -Sweating -Beating heart -Shaking -And Nausea People also with this condition will have an extreme fear of being judged, especially by people they dont know. This will result in excessive self-conciousness in everyday situations. So how does it develop? Well, theres many reasons. It could be from past embarassing experiences, Different types of abuse, peer or otherwise, genetics and a plethora of other factors. Social anxiety disorder can affect the formation of healthy relationships. What treatment is there? The simplest method is lifestyle changes, such as cutting back on nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine. If that doesn't work, there is cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on breathing exercises as a form of stress relief. If all else fails, medication like antidepressants and beta blockers are effective. What can we do to help?
