What limits are placed on public consumption of alcohol in Illinois?I want to plan a wedding in a public park and need to know if Illinois state law would prevent me from serving alcohol.
I'm planning a wedding in a public park. I've contacted the parks administration about permits, but I need to know if Illinois state law will allow the local government to permit me to serve alcohol at the event.

It really depends on the city. Some cities will have a waiver process that will allow you to serve alcohol in a public park, but you will usually have to have security or possibly the police department on site. You need to contact the parks department. You will probably need a permit just to have the event.
