Alcoholic meetings for loved ones and friends?

Alcoholic meetings for loved ones and friends? My boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic. Long story short, a lot has happened to me, our relationship and to him as well. Lately I have been really short with him and I have also been really emotional. I know that Alcoholics have plenty of safe places to go for support but is there a place for friends or loved ones of alcoholics to go so that they can get some support as well?

Al-anon is the support group you are looking for - a great 'safe' space, very supportive... specially for families and friends of alcoholics (ie anyone whose life is, or has been, affected by someone else's drinking.

The web address is http://www.al-anonuk.org.uk/ (just copy and paste into address bar)

They have regular weekly meetings in local groups throughout the UK and Ireland - click on the box "Find your local meeting" on the left hand side of the homepage to find your local group meeting time and place.

Good luck xx

Alcoholics Anonymous has support groups for friends and loved ones of recovering alcoholics. They're called Al Anon, and they have meetings in addition to printed materials to help you understand what's happening in your relationship as your boyfriend sorts through his recovery etc.
