Can you tell by looking at someone if they have mild fetal alcoholism effects? There is a guy that wants to talk to me, and he sent me a picture of him, and his facial features are different from what I usually see to say the least. ARe there any facial characteristics along with personality to make this obvious? He is white and 25 if that matters

Yes you can. A child with FAS has distinctive looks. Not to mention:

-low birth weight
-small head circumference
-failure to thrive
-developmental delay
-organ dysfunction
-facial abnormalities, including smaller eye openings, flattened cheekbones, and indistinct philtrum (an underdeveloped groove between the nose and the upper lip)
-epilepsy
-poor coordination/fine motor skills
-poor socialization skills, such as difficulty building and maintaining friendships and relating to groups
-lack of imagination or curiosity
-learning difficulties, including poor memory, inability to understand concepts such as time and money, poor language comprehension
-poor problem-solving skills
--behavioral problems, including hyperactivity,
-inability to concentrate, social withdrawal,
-stubbornness, impulsiveness, and anxiety

A few symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome are... distinctive facial features, including small eyelid openings, a sunken nasal bridge, an exceptionally thin upper lip, a short, upturned nose and a smooth skin surface between the nose and upper lip, and small teeth.

Hope this helps you some!

I don't think his age/race have anything to do with FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) but since you soundlike you'rementioning that out of trying to give facts, I'll assume taht you are not prejudiced. OK. Yeah, there are some FAS features that a person has. Here they are:

I hope this helps you, and do note that any 'typical' human being can read any disorder and think they have part of that. Think of the respect able people you run into. Think of yourself, think of your friends/classmates/church membes (insert other religous building if you don't go to church), etc. If most people do not have these, chances are that if the person you are dating does - he/she may have FAS.

I was born drunk and high, and my father I've never known beat my real mother into labor. As for if it matters, it's not the babies fault. The sins of the father, and the parents in my case does not mean I have to emulate them. I am a recovering alcoholic though.
