can people give me reasons as to why they are for or against marijuana?Cause I just don't understand why people are so against it....my parents both did it A LOT back in the day they were like the beach hippies here in OC and they turned out pretty darn successful........I have smoked since I was 16 and pulled a 3.8 GPA in high school with AP classes....and got into college here. so whats the deal. it doesn't cause memory loss, etc.
Alcohol deaths per year: 125,000
Tobacco (cigs): 450,000
Marijuana: 0
You can't overdose on it, nothing. I mean does anyone have any reasoning as to why it is bad? I am open to a good debate but come on...you can't even find anything wrong with it...
Don't get me wrong, I have friends who smoke 5-6 times a day and cannot handle it, but for the most part if the person can handle it, it isn't harmful..so why are a lot of people against it? It's on the november ballot here in california so it will probably be legalized.
It is a plant, not the drug. and finally the government is seeing that (obviously or else it would be harder to get medi cards here and they wouldn't be considering legalization here)
also, over 51% of the california's population supposedly (according to CNN) approves of the legalization which is up way more from what it used to be. the general public is starting to see that it isn't as harmful as the old politicians made it out to be in the first place.
@Leah: haha I forgot to mention the medical benefits of it. they go on and on! glad to hear its helped you, i have heard many others call it the "miracle drug" too and that tells you something!

There's nothing wrong with it. It's probably on of the safest drugs on Earth. But the govn't brainwashes ppl into believing it's horrible for your health. They drill that into their brain at a very early age in school. If you do your research the marijuana scare started because competitors of the hemp industry were getting the crap knocked out of them. So they would send lobbyists to try to ban it.
Even if it was one of the worst things to do for your health, that still doesn't make it right to make it illegal. What I do with my body is nobody else's business. There's no way anyone can justify having any drug illegal.

I am for marijuana. It is wonderful for pain relief, nausea relief, help with glaucoma, MS, and other illnesses such as cancer. I find that the majority of people against it only listened to reports about people that have combined it with alcohol or more. God gave us this herb and I feel there is a reason why. I usually am prescribed 10mg oxycodeine tablets to take for my pain everyday. However, if I smoke marijuana I do not have to take it. So for comparison, I smoke marijuana maybe 2-3 times a week and I have not taken one pain pill for 2 years. So, the biggest reason I am for it is because of its positive effects for those that really need it medically. For me it is major chemicals in medicine vs a natural herb. It is easily figured out what most people would choose if they had an open mind. On the other hand, ever hear of a killing spree, murder, robbery or other crazy crimes from somebody high? Your answer is no. The person that has smoked marijuana is chilling at home mostly.
