Does consuming alcohol kill brain cells, making you less smart?I've heard that drinking/getting drunk kills brain cells.
I like to drink, and get pretty drunk sometimes... but I keep it under control.
then again, I'm young and in college... I've got a high IQ and I was concerned about becoming "less smart" from drinking? this is a serious question, I don't care to hear from the Y!A smart a sses on here. THANKS!

anything in extreme excess is usually not good. There have been studies on alcoholics were their pre-frontal cortex has been damaged due to the high alcohol usage. This is were alot of your thought process and reasoning comes from. Other areas of your brain include the amygalda were alot of hormones are regulated.
But if you say its under control... no worries and im sure your not an alcoholic. You would think someone with an "high IQ" would know how to use goole :)
