If it's one or two drinks and the recommended dosage, you should be fine. It's not very smart to take pain pills if you are planning on drinking alcohol, though.

Nothing that wouldn't happen if you took each one independently. Ibuprofen belongs to a class of drugs called NSAIDS, which are NOT opiates or sedating medications. Therefore, there is no PRACTICAL interaction between the two on a one time basis or so. If one took regular doses/amounts of each of these on a REGULAR and chronic basis, then the incidence of gastritis and ulcers would likely be slightly higher statistically. In fact, one drug commonly used to alleviate pain in hospitals and emergency rooms in patients who are intoxicated is Toradol--which is in the same class as ibuprofen...

Do not drink alcohol while taking ibuprofen. Alcohol may increase drowsiness or dizziness. Alcohol may also increase the risk of dangerous stomach bleeding while taking this medication.
