Which is stronger, Bacardi 151 or an absinthe (alcohol content wise)?A Bacardi 151 has an alcohol content of 75.5% and an absinthe has 68% (dictionary.com) or 45%-74% alcohol by volume (Wikipedia). I am not sure if alcohol content is the same as alcohol by volume. Also, the article states that absinthe is banned in the United States but 151 is not (at least it was not mentioned and I know people in the U.S. who get 151). Why ban a 45%-68%-74% alcohol content but not 75.5%? Keep in mind that I am an 18 year old and do not drink and have no intention to. For all I know there are different types of alcohol that have acceptable alcohol contents...

absinthe causes hallucinations,brain damage and suicidal tendencies. there is now an americanized form of absinthe on the market here but why waste money on it if it's not the real thing?

151 has a higher alcohol content, and will therefore get you drunker faster. But Absinthe has some other stuff in it... it's not just alcohol.
