Why did alcohol prohibition last only 13 years and the weed prohibition is continuing after almost 8 decades?I seems like many of the same problems prohibition of alcohol faced, prohibition of weed faces as well. Violence, wrongful imprisonment, tax loses, lack of quality control, ect. The government came to their senses 13 years after illegalizing alcohol, and three years later made pot illegal. Why do you think that is?

Excellent question. Alcohol has been around for thousands of years and so has cannibus but you have people who believe that weed is a more dangerous drug. The very same people who outlaw weed drink, which seems to be the height of hypocrisy.

More people drink so the government had a harder time convincing the voters that the increase in gang violence and drive by shootings was caused by some fact other than alcohol was illegal.
Right now the feds have placed so much stock in the line that marijuana is a dangerous gateway drug they federal legalizing it which is why they don't allow medical marijuana use even though reality shows it is quite harmless.
