Is Guinness Drought considered higher or lower in alcohol content from the average beer?Would you consider Guinness Drought to be a stronger or weaker beer than most beers?

I like to drink it so I was just wondering. I normally have to drink about 2-3 Guinness Drought beers to get a buzz. lol

its about 4% alcohol content, give or take, depending on your location

this is about average for beer in the US... with light beers being less and regular beers usually getting closer to 5%.

It depends what your "average beer" is. American beers tend to be lower in alcohol, around 4-4.5%. Guinness draught is 4.2%, so it would be considered average. When foreign beers are considered, Guinness would be considered a light beer. Most Canadian beers for example are over 5%, European beers (except UK) are often around 8%. For an interesting change, try a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. Very strong flavor, with 7.5% alcohol, can be hard to find but well worth it.
