Why does the alcohol content in smirnoff ice go way up when flavors are added?

Why does the alcohol content in smirnoff ice go way up when flavors are added? Is it possible to find a flavored smirnoff that does not have such a high alcohol content?
If I were to have a flavored smirnoff, how many shots would it take 2 get buzzed and then drunk?
THANKS

It doesn't, in fact most flavoured spirits are lower in alcohol than the original base spirit (Typically around 35% instead of 40%)
