It will make you VERY tired, and if you go overboard, black out.
I've been there.

I had a friend once who drank on her anti depressants. Her heart stopped and she was found dead.
My aunt drinks and take anti-depressants. Her heart hasn't stopped yet, but the family worries constantly about her, which isn't a fair thing for her to do.
If your doctor advises you not to drink and take your paxil at the same time, don't do it. Doctors have medical degrees. They are advising you for reasons; call your doctor to discuss the reasons if you need to.
Personally, I think having a Roy Rogers over a Coke and Rum is better option than possibly stopping your heart and making people worry about you.

I have been on several different anti-depressants during my life. Paxil was the worst, because I also enjoy an occasional drink. Alcohol just increases the risk of having negative side effects. After drinking I was VERY irritable, and prone to panic attacks. For me it was the only anti-depressant I was on that had such effects with alcohol. If it is really important to you I recommend trying prozac or zoloft.

I take a bucket full of drugs daily and have done so for over 12 months. They all say you should avoid alcohol and they all say they could make you drowsy and if this happens do not drive or use machinery.
As a recently packed up alcoholic and smoker you can take it from me that drugs and alcohol do make you feel a bit odd at times but then I wasn't sure if it was just the alcohol. I'm not suggesting you try or do combine the both as they are not a good mix but we are all different. I got away with it for over 12 years and maybe I was lucky or maybe it's all scare tactics? When all is said and done best not mix the two, it's not worth the risk some cocktails have made feel very uncomfortable.
I hope this Helps
